Each player must build the walls of their castle by adding walls with increasingly higher values. On their turn, they reveal one of the 45 numbered face-down cards and decide whether to keep it or not.
If they keep it, they add it to their castle wall. If not, they place it face down again, making it available to all the other players.
The winner is the first player to build a wall consisting of 10 sections.
In the family variant, certain walls have special powers (cannons, towers, magician) or provide bonus points (king, queen, princesses, princes, crows).
